For more than three decades, Christine Ellis has called Chandler home. A city that has witnessed her journey from a Haitian immigrant to a dedicated public servant, Chandler holds a special place in her heart. Christine’s connection to the city goes beyond mere residency; it is a bond built on a deep love for the community, its people, and the opportunities it has afforded her and her family. Her devotion to Chandler is evident not only in her professional achievements but in her tireless service to its residents, especially the most vulnerable among them.
Christine moved to the United States in 1982, with a heart full of dreams and a commitment to making a positive impact in her new country. By 1987, she had settled in Chandler with her husband Benjamin, where they raised their daughter, Taliah. Although they suffered the loss of their son, Sean, who lives forever in their hearts, Chandler became a place of solace and purpose for the Ellis family. It’s where Christine has built her career, nurtured her faith, and fostered countless relationships that shape her passion for public service today.

A Lifelong Commitment to Serving Chandler’s People
With her background in nursing, Christine has always understood the importance of caring for others, whether it’s in a hospital room or a council chamber. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and is currently pursuing further studies in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Walden University. Christine’s experience as a nurse, director, and educator in the healthcare field has positioned her as a compassionate leader with a keen sense of the challenges facing families in Chandler and across Arizona.

As a healthcare professional and community advocate, Christine is a firm believer that a strong, healthy community is built by lifting up each of its members. From founding Cedar Sanctuary LLC, an organization dedicated to providing families with quality care for their elderly loved ones, to co-founding The Bridge/FCS Ministry, which serves the local homeless population, Christine has always been at the forefront of efforts to ensure that Chandler remains a place where all residents are valued and supported.
Her love for Chandler and its people drives her to do more. From feeding the hungry to advocating for better healthcare and community services, Christine’s commitment is clear: she wants to see Chandler continue to thrive as a city of opportunity, safety, and unity.
Building on a Strong Foundation: Christine’s Vision for Chandler’s Future
In her first term as City Councilmember, Christine has been a strong voice for Chandler’s families, businesses, and diverse communities. Her leadership has focused on enriching neighborhoods, fostering partnerships for higher education, and advocating for free-market solutions to support both small and large businesses. Christine believes that Chandler’s strength lies in its diversity—culturally, economically, and socially—and her mission is to ensure that every resident has a role in shaping the city’s future.
Her vision for Chandler is one where every individual can thrive, regardless of their background. Whether it’s through educational initiatives that bring universities like Grand Canyon University, Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University to the city, or through her efforts to encourage economic development, Christine’s goal is to make Chandler a destination of choice for residents and businesses alike.

She also understands the critical role of safety in maintaining a strong community. As someone who has lived in Chandler for over 30 years, Christine knows firsthand the importance of feeling secure in your neighborhood. That’s why she’s committed to working with the Chandler Police Department to ensure that every community is safe, and every citizen has access to the resources they need to build successful, fulfilling lives.

Championing Chandler’s Diversity and Economic Growth
One of the most remarkable aspects of Chandler is its rich diversity. With over 11% of the population identifying as Asian American, the city is a vibrant mosaic of cultures, languages, and traditions. Christine has been a tireless advocate for embracing and celebrating this diversity. As a member of the National Haitian American Elected Officials Network and a co-founder of multiple community organizations, she has demonstrated her commitment to inclusion and representation at every level.
Christine’s dedication to the Asian American community, in particular, is deeply rooted in her belief that Chandler’s success is tied to the prosperity of all its residents. By encouraging free-market solutions, Christine has worked to ensure that entrepreneurs—many of whom are from immigrant and minority backgrounds—have the tools and support they need to grow their businesses. From small family-owned shops to larger enterprises, she recognizes that local businesses are the backbone of Chandler’s economy.
As she seeks re-election for her second term, Christine’s commitment to Chandler’s diverse and thriving community remains as strong as ever. She continues to advocate for policies that support both economic growth and social equity, ensuring that Chandler remains a city where all families can prosper.
