From the moment I entered the ballroom, it was clear this was no ordinary evening. The elegant décor shimmered with intention, every detail thoughtfully curated—from the beautifully arranged stage to the welcoming ambiance that embraced every guest. As I flipped through the program book and strolled past the carefully displayed silent auction items, one thing became evident: this was the result of months of dedication, passion, and meticulous planning.

And behind it all stood an extraordinary force—a board of 17 women representing 12 different communities, united by one shared purpose: to bring women together, to uplift, and to empower.

In a time when the world often feels divided, the choice of this year’s theme—“Illuminating Her – The Heart of Humanity”—felt especially meaningful. It was not just a theme, but a message. A message of healing. A message of unity. A message that reminds us that at the core of humanity lies the strength, compassion, and light of women.

That spirit came to life the moment the Founder and Chair, Mai Le, took the stage. With grace and conviction, her opening speech set the tone for the entire evening. She spoke of women as the heart of humanity—resilient, compassionate, and quietly powerful. Her words resonated deeply, reminding us that when a woman rises, she lifts entire communities with her.

That message flowed seamlessly into the keynote address by Dr. Judith Robles, whose powerful voice reflected both strength and empathy. She spoke of leadership rooted in service and the courage it takes to care deeply in a world that often demands otherwise. Her words were not only inspiring—they were grounding, calling each of us to action in our own lives.

The significance of the evening was further elevated by the presentation of five official proclamations—a powerful recognition of IWC’s growing impact. Representatives from the Governor’s Office, the Arizona House of Representatives, and local leaders from the City of Chandler, City of Glendale, and the Town of Queen Creek came forward in unity, affirming the importance of uplifting women and celebrating diversity across our communities.

The emotional depth of the evening continued with inspirational speaker, Michael Pollack, a long-time supporter who truly believes in the mission of IWC. His message reflected a life dedicated to uplifting others—but what followed became one of the most unforgettable highlights of the night. In a heartfelt and unexpected moment, he was presented with the IWC Legacy Award, honoring his unwavering commitment to giving back. The standing ovation that followed was not just applause, it was gratitude, admiration, and respect. This special award was custom made by the famous Vietnamese American artist and philanthropist, Sir Daniel Winn, from Beverly Hills.

At the heart of the gala was the recognition of 12 extraordinary women from 12 different communities. Each honoree represented a unique cultural background, yet all were united by one defining quality: a giving heart. These are women who have not only shaped the future—but shaken it—breaking barriers, creating opportunities, and uplifting others through their compassion and leadership.

As their stories were shared, the room was filled with emotion, inspiration, and deep respect. These women are more than leaders; they are the living embodiment of the evening’s theme—the true heart of humanity.

Then came the grand crescendo.
The Parade of Cultures—featuring over 100 models from 12 communities—transformed the stage into a breathtaking celebration of global heritage. Each model walked with pride and dignity, adorned in stunning traditional attire that told stories of identity, history, and belonging. It was a powerful visual reminder that our diversity is not something that separates us—but something that unites us in beauty and strength.

And just when the evening seemed complete, one final moment elevated it into something truly unforgettable. Chair Mai Le re-emerged-on stage—this time in a dazzling, symbolic presentation inspired by the Phoenix. As she walked forward, radiant and poised, she embodied the very essence of the evening: rebirth, strength, and ascension. It was a powerful visual metaphor—when a woman rises, the world rises with her.

In that moment, the message became crystal clear: This is the spirit of the International Women Celebration.

It is not just about honoring achievements—it is about igniting a movement. A movement where women illuminate one another, where cultures unite, and where the heart of humanity shines brighter because of it.

As the evening ended, one feeling lingered above all: hope. Hope that through unity, compassion, and empowerment, we can continue to uplift one another—and in doing so truly illuminate the world.
